The MS 391 is an easy-to-manage chainsaw that
offers improved performance and user comfort for jobs such
as harvesting wood or sawing firewood. With a choice of 16 inch (40 cm),
18 inch (45 cm) or 20 inch (50 cm) bar lengths.
Powerful performance
Advanced combustion technology provides highly
efficient performance, lower fuel consumption and high
torque across a broad rpm range. The 3.3kW STIHL 2-MIX engine also
offers up to 50 percent lower emissions and up to 20 percent
less fuel consumption compared to non-2-MIX equivalents. A compensator in
the carburettor helps to keep the fuel/air ratio and engine power constant,
even as the air filter becomes clogged. This gives you excellent
performance that you can rely on.
Easy operation
The chain tensioner has been positioned on the side of the
saw through the sprocket cover, which removes the need for contact with
the sharp saw chain. Another feature that aids ease-of-use is the tool
free filler caps. There are special catches on the fuel and oil tanks that make
for easy opening and locking, so you can effortlessly top up your machine with
no tools required. All of the MS 391’s important operating functions, such as
stop, start, choke and throttle, are collected onto a single lever,
meaning this saw takes less effort to use, and is more comfortable to
work with.
Efficient & comfortable design
As well as STIHL’s 2-MIX engine, which provides fuel and
emission efficiencies, the MS 391 uses the Ematic chain lubrication system.
This ensures pinpoint lubrication of the saw chain links and guide bar
rails to give longer wear and reduce bar oil consumption by up to 50
percent. A variable-displacement oil pump allows precise,
demand-based delivery of oil, again reducing oil consumption in this model. Due
to STIHL’s anti-vibration technology, the MS 391 is also a pleasure to
work with. Engine oscillations are dampened, resulting in significantly
reduced vibrations at the handles.
